FB GROUP and the State of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau signed the Modernization and Expansion of the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport Project in May 28, 2023. FB GROUP, which has completed landmark projects around the world and especially Africa, has now undertaken Guinea-Bissau’s new airport project.
The government of Guinea-Bissau has greenlit a major project to modernize and expand the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport. Project, undertaken by FB GROUP through a Design-Build-Operate-Transfer agreement, began in the latter part of 2023 and is expected to be completed within two years.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Fatih Bora, President & CEO of FB GROUP, and by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Finance, on behalf of The State of The Republic of Guinea-Bissau. The ceremony itself was a vibrant celebration of Guinean culture and the promising partnership between FB GROUP and The State of The Republic of Guinea-Bissau. Traditional folkloric dances added to the festive atmosphere alongside rousing speeches from dignitaries.
Within this project, FB Group shall be constructing a new international airport in Bissau with a capacity of 1 million passengers per year. The new airport will have a modern terminal with two bridges, an apron to accommodate two large aircrafts, and cargo handling facilities. The new airport is a major step forward for Guinea-Bissau and is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s economy and development. The airport will be operated under a 40-year concession agreement.
