FB GROUP, has won the tender to upgrade and expand the São Tomé International Airport in São Tomé and Príncipe.
The contract was signed by Mr. Yusuf Baykan, CIO of FB GROUP, and by Mr. Ginesio da Mata, Minister of Planning and Finances, on behalf of the State of São Tomé and Príncipe.
Awarded by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Environment, the project involves a comprehensive upgrade and renovation under build-operate-transfer (BOT) model with a 49-year concession.
The project will encompass a complete overhaul of the airpot, including: Construction of a New Terminal Building; Expansion and Rehabilitation of Existing Aprons; Runway and Taxiway Rehabilitation; Construction of New ARFF Facilities; Renovation of VIP Terminal.
The works are to start in Q3 of 2024 and is expected to be completed within two years.
