The modernization and expansion of Osvaldo Vieira International Airport has been successfully completed, marking a major milestone for Guinea-Bissau’s aviation sector. Delivered under a Design-Build-Operate-Transfer (DBOT) model, the project was officially inaugurated on March 13, 2026.
The project includes the construction of a new passenger terminal, alongside key airside and landside developments such as a cargo terminal, new apron areas, and runway works. Designed in line with international aviation standards, the airport is set to accommodate up to 1 million passengers annually.
FB GROUP will operate the airport under a 40-year concession period, ensuring efficient management and high service standards throughout the lifecycle of the project. This long-term partnership reflects FB GROUP’s integrated approach, combining development, construction, and operation under a single framework.
As a strategic gateway to Guinea-Bissau, the airport is expected to play a key role in strengthening regional and international air links while elevating the overall passenger experience.
